‘Deep Throat’ is dead…

Now that I have your attention, just wanted to let everyone know that:

W. Mark Felt, the former FBI second-in-command who revealed himself as “Deep Throat” 30 years after he tipped off reporters to the Watergate scandal that toppled a president, has died. He was 95.

The Greek Riots in Photographs

On the night of Saturday, December 6th, two Special Guards of the Greek police clashed with a small group of young men. The exact details of what took place are still unclear, but it is known that one of the Guards fired three shots, and one of those bullets caused the death of 15-year-old Alexander Grigoropoulos – whether the injury was made by an accidental ricochet or deliberate shot remains to be determined. The two Guards are now in jail awaiting trial, the shooter charged with homicide.

13th Street — Guerilla Marketing

Jung von Matt/next, the agency for interactive and innovative communication, presents the project "Blood Bath":

To promote the exclusive thrillers and horror films on 13TH STREET NBC, the toilet of a nightclub in Hamburg was specially prepared. Just after entering the room, the light suddenly goes out and the room is bathed in black light.

And now a bloody crime scene becomes visible on the floor and walls: "See what others don't see. 13TH STREET. The Action and Suspense Channel"

Puppies and Flowers : Le Dachshund Soap

leDachshund.jpg

There are quite a lot of level-headed people around the country who go totally crazy for this little breed of waddling wiener dogs. If you know any of these people, they will love this gift, and they will love you, because they love dachshunds so much! This accurately-rendered and adorable dog-shaped soap is scented with a crisp cottage linen fragrance. Presented in a sophisticated chocolate and ivory houndstooth-patterned box and topped off with a burnt orange ribbon, it's the perfect mixture of classy and offbeat.

Lucas with the Lid Off — Directed by Michel Gondry

An excellent music video that aired briefly on MTV in 1994 and soon became largely forgotten. This one was filmed in B&W to produce an old-timey ambience that works very well with the ragtime sound. Pay close attention to the continuity. The whole video was filmed with a steadycam, in one continuous shot... an unbelievably difficult task that only someone like Michel Gondry could pull off.

Thanks Jeremy S.
